imageHorsehaven Stables specializes in horse riding lessons for beginner riders of all ages.  Our lessons are private, one hour and $50.  We have no age limit and teach both English and Western riding. Though beginners are our specialty we can instruct through advanced jumping.  We have a large variety of lesson horses, many Solange has personally broken to saddle and trained herself, this allows the student a more cohesive education as both horse and rider are being ridden and trained in the same style.

Lessons with Solange are a fun and educating experience.  Not only will you learn how to ride a horse, our students will also learn all the important point outside of the saddle such as proper ground handling and how to saddle and bridle their lesson horse.  All students begin in a Western saddle and are provided the opportunity and encouraged to advance to an English saddle. Our goal is to provide students with a classical riding education with safety always first and foremost. We are a non-showing barn and concentrate on trail-riding and fox hunting for our clients.

Once Solange has determined that you have reached a certain level of riding ability and some other requirements such as being able to safely be around the stables independently, you may be offered the opportunities to spend more time at the stables by either Leasing a horse and/or to become a Barn Rat.

Lesson Highlights:
• Our lesson program is fully insured.
• All lessons are 1 hour and private at $50 per hour.
• SEI/ASTM approved helmets are required and we happily provide them for new students until they purchase their own.

How to get started with lessons:

  1. Call 330 241 2256 or Email us at with the age and experience level of the student and their riding goals.
  2. Set up a date and time for a pre-lesson appointment.  This way you can come in and meet Solange herself, the horses and also see the facility that we have here.

Of course we allow changes and make-ups to be made, according to the schedules of all involved, including the lesson horse’s.
